Basic information Job Name: Assistant Finance Manager Location: Luxembourg Line of Business: Finance Job Function: Investor Services Date: Thursday, March 6, 2025 Position Summary This position is part of the CPE finance team (8 in total) serving in our Luxembourg office supporting the Buyout and Technology teams in Europe as well as the fund management team in London and the fund accounting team in Washington DC. The team is responsible for 8 SICAR companies and over 150 financing and holding companies. The role consists of day-to-day review of accounting and to provides support and analysis on everything related to day-to-day transactions of various investments moving throughout the structure. Successful candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment and report directly to the Manager. Responsibilities Accounting duties & responsibilities (95%)
  • Review of financial statements and accounting prepared by external service providers
  • Effectively liaise and communicate with the legal team in Luxembourg to share information in relation to operations, as well as ensure the external parties have the ability to comprehend legal documentation supporting investment transactions
  • Preparation of distribution templates (including calculation for debt instruments and shares redemptions)
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of the indirect (VAT) and direct tax (CIT/MBT/NWT) returns prepared by external tax advisors
  • Review invoices before submitting for payment
  • Processing of payments and deal related cash flows
  • Recording of daily bookkeeping
  • Assist the manager on specific tasks, including investment structuring and deal closings
  • Preparation of periodic reporting to the Luxembourg central bank and CSSF
  • Coordinating and dealing with year-end audits under the supervision of the manager and the preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Intercompany account reconciliation
  • Review the day-to-day operations of companies and assist to fund controllers requests
  • Coach and supervise the daily work of junior staff and be an important link between management and junior staff
  • Be responsible for the quality of the work and documents produced and submitted for management review
Various current and ad-hoc reports/project (5%)
  • Assist in a wide variety of projects as assigned; and
  • Other reasonably related duties as assigned
Qualifications Education & Certificates
  • University Degree or Equivalent in Accounting/Finance
Professional Experience
  • Minimum 4 years experience
  • Strong knowledge of Luxembourg accounting, tax and legal environment
  • Strong organisational skills and detail oriented
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge of Lux GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office
