Student Job (summer holidays) - Ateliers/Conciergerie

The Commune of Bertrange will also organize holiday work for young people in 2024. A maximum of 6 students will be employed for a period of two consecutive weeks. Applications must contain all the information and certificates requested to be admissible. Any student is only entitled to a maximum of two weeks of work for the year 2024.

The hiring of students during the summer holidays is under the responsibility of the college of Aldermen. Applicants must meet the following conditions:

• be at least 16 years old and not have passed the age of 22 years
• be enrolled in a Luxembourgish or foreign secondary or university education establishment and regularly follow a full-time education cycle
• be registered in Bertrange
• present the written consent of the parents or guardians (for minors)

Incomplete files will not be taken into consideration!

Remuneration is paid according to the following hourly rates (index 944,43), namely:

• from 18 years old, 11,8887 €
• from 17 years old, 9,5110 €
• from 16 years old, 8,9165 €

Each candidate is hired for a period of two consecutive weeks between 01.07.2024 and 20.09.2024.

The desired engagement period has to be indicated when registering, as subsequent changes are not possible for organizational reasons. The working hours are 40 hours per week, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Students who register for student work and who do not arrive for work without having notified the municipal administration on time and without having a valid reason will be automatically refused the following year.

The college of Aldermen, in collaboration with the Youth Commission, is responsible for organizing the work. Students must comply with the schedules set by the municipal administration and follow the orders given by municipal staff. In case of non-compliance, the student will be dismissed immediately.

Type of work to be performed:

• Gardening work: maintaining public green spaces
• Cleaning work: playgrounds, parking lots, streets, paths and public areas

All applicants will be informed as soon as possible of the outcome of their request. An information meeting will take place before the start of the holiday work.
